An Easy Way to Relax

I bought oil burner, lavender scented oil & candles in SM Clark 2 weeks ago. It’s only during my days off that me & my kids get the chance to sleep together in our little apartment since I’m on graveyard shift on weekdays.

At night at exactly 8pm during my days off, I would lit the candle inside the oil burner and put a few drops of lavander oil and at the same time turn on the aircondition. After an hour, I would invite my kids to sleep and everytime we enter the room, oh boy!...the relaxing ambience is awesome.

Sleeping has been my problem. I feel restless for the past months, especially when the construction of my house started and now I’m experiencing financial problems, thinking of ways how to buy everything needed for finishings.

Since I started the oil therapy (which I got the idea from Footsies Spa Salon when I had my footscrub there), I get 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep, I feel relaxed and my body is conditioned to face any challenges for the day.

I recommend this idea to my fellow moms, especially working moms to try this at least twice a week or anytime they need to lighten up. Eucalyptus oil is great too.

Let's Fight Alzheimer!

I’m sure a lot of people have watched the film “The NoteBook” where the female leadstar suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. I believe the said movie was based from true story.

My husband’s late maternal grand mother also had Alzheimer, the same disease hit my mother’s aunt who is still living and almost 80 years old.

According to Wikipedia, Alzheimer is a common form of dementia. This incurable, degenerative and terminal disease was first described by German psychiatrist Alöis Alzheimer in 1901. The most commonly recognised early symptom is memory loss.

It is alarming to know there is a possibility that cases of Alzheimer’s disease will continue to grow and it might affect our loved one’s too like our parents.

Fortunately, the Alzheimer's Memory Walk is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research – and it calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer's. There are walks in more than 600 communities. A typical Memory Walk is a 2-3 mile walk held on a weekend morning in the fall.

By teaming up with the Alzheimer's Association, you can walk with a purpose – and move us closer to a world without Alzheimer's. Together, we can MOVE a nation.

Birthday Boy

Time flies so fast, my son CJ has turned 9 years old last August 09, Saturday. We cooked the usual birthday food like pancit guisado & fried chicken and I bought him chocolate marjolaine from Red Ribbon. Prior to his birthday, he was asking me what plans I have for his special day, he was even telling me if he can invite his classmates over to our house or I'll bring food in their class just like last time but I explained to him that we'll have a simple celebration with his cousins, that budget is tight because we are preparing to move to our newly constructed house and my precious boy easily understood the situation. But in exhange to that, he made 3 simple wishes which I granted and they are the following:

1. buy him a CD for his PS2 which is less than 100 pesos 'coz it's pirated
2. download a game for his PSP worth 50 pesos only
3. watch the Wall-E movie once it's showing either in SM or Robinson cinema.

Three simple wishes and it already made his 9th birthday complete. That's what I like about CJ, he knows the word compromise.

Foot Spa

I just had a relaxing foot spa in Footsies spa salon along Pandan road, few meters away from my parents house. Supposedly, my daughter and I will be watching “A Very Special Love” after school but I have to settle my last payment for my house construction. So my sister and I went to the bank before lunchtime and went to different money changing outlet. Unfortunately, they all offer low exchange rate…grrrr. After meeting the architech and handed the money, I decided to go for a footspa. I felt immediately relaxed because of the aroma coming from the peppermint oil circling inside the receiving area. The spa therapist was very good, after the foot scrub and spa, she gave me a back massage that made me decide to come back for a whole body massage. My friend Josielyn told me that Swedish massage is a lot better than the full body whitening scrub that we had previously.

Stylish yet Affordable

In our company, everytime you celebrate your employment anniversary, you’ll undergo annual physical examination which I did last May. This includes x-rays, blood & laboratory tests such as stool and urinalysis. The last step of the said physical exam is the eye exam.
According to the Medicard opthalmologists, I do not have a perfect vision which I already expected. The only problem is my left eye which has lower vision compare to my right eye and this explains the reason why I wasn’t able to read some of the letters correctly in the eye exam board.
She ask me if I wanted to wear eyeglass to improve my vision but I said no. First, I am not comfortable wearing eye or reading glasses and another reason is I find those glasses brought by the ophthalmologist too expensive & old fashioned. Unlike the Zenni Optical $8 Rx Eyeglasses, they are not just affordable, they are stylish too. In fact Zenni Optical was on Fox News! They are unbelievably cheap because they sell only their own manufactured frames direct to the customer, with no middlemen and virtually no advertising budget.

Below are samples of Incredible Stylish Frames from Zenni:

Baby Nicole

We welcome the newest member of the family...Nicole Dizon Balolot, a beautiful angel of my sister. Nicole was born last August 06 at around 8 in the morming via ceasarian section. I do not exactly know how much she weighs and some other details, what's important is that my niece is perfectly fine when she came out and she is truly beautiful.

When I gave birth to CJ & Acey, my sister was at my side and treated my kids like her own. This explains the reason why my kids love her so much and look up to her. I really think is the perfect time for me to give back the favor. They will stay here for few months, after that, they'll fly back to Qatar to where my sister & her hubby are working.

The Mummy

August 01 was an enjoyable day to all employees in our company because it was our General Assembly and everybody was treated to a free movie with popcorn & large drinks. Our company rented one cinema in SM Clark and all employees were invited, however, because our company is open 24/7, others who were still on duty didn't make it to the said event. After watching the film, exciting prizes were raffled off and I did not win any...pout.

We watch the movie "The Mummy". I didn't get to see the 2 previous Mummy movies but still I enjoyed the said film. For me, it's an action pack film but some of the scenes were far from reality. What I enjoyed most were the punchlines from the lead characters and some funny scenes. The cinematography is awesome and all the actors involved were great too. Oh, I love the gorgeous body of Brendan Fraser.

Looking forward to watching "A Very Special Love" within this week.
