Pampering Ourselves

My friends and I have planned May 24 to be our summer outing. I agreed I will shoulder the accomodation if in case we decided to stay overnight, this will also serve as my birthday treat to them. However, with continous rains especially in the afternoon for the past weeks because we're already in the rainy season, we have to cancel the said outing. Good thing we didn't make reservations to either Villa Antonina or Villa Alfredo Resort because partial payment or reservation fees are usually non refundable.

Still, Michelle, her kids and company traveled all the way from Abra to Pampanga for 2 reasons. First, to buy materials usually different type of papers to be used in their printing press in Abra. Secondly, girl bonding at least before our kids will go back to school.

Last Saturday, before heading to Josielyn's place to meet the girls, I dropped at a salon in Balibago, Angeles City to have my toenails pedicured, it's been quiet a while since my last pedicure. Can you imagine the cuticle?....eeewww.

We actually do not have specific plans last Saturday, we just want to meet and bond. We thought of pampering ourselves on that day and going to the spa was the best idea. While on the road on the way to Footsies Spa, located in Pandan Road, it rained heavily and the road was flooded, Michelle's brother was our driver, he was a super nice guy and his patience is commendable. Can you imagine driving for 4 crazy woman like us all in one car? LOL.

When the flood subsided and the rain stopped, we went back to Balibago, Angeles City. We had our afternoon snack at DiDi's. We all ate pizza burger except for Marlyn who ordered tacos plus pansit guisado. Afterwards, we transferred to Salon Ambiante. Josielyn had her eyelash extended, the process took an hour. She was happy with the result and the eyelash extension could last 1 to 2 months.

Then we headed to MediSpa. I chose Shiatsu Full body massage but the girls convinced me to have Whitening Full Budy Scrub instead. We also drag Michelle's brother inside the Spa so he could have full body massage so he won't get bored waiting for us. Michelle and I excitedly went inside the massage room while Josielyn & Marlyn were on the room next door. We were instructed to take off our clothes and were given disposable panty. It can't be denied through our actions that we are first timers.

I enjoyed the full body scrub immensely especially the light massage after shower. I promised myself a relaxing massage on my birthday and I'm glad I did. Michelle paid the bill, she's really a generous friend. At home I kept smelling my skin, the scent was so addicting.

The next day, they invited me for a facial treatment but I begged off because I have a prior commitment and I brought my kids to the birthday party of their cousin.

The kitchen I like

Hopefully my parents will be able to move to their newly constructed house first week of June when my sister will arrive from Qatar to give birth to her first baby. While I'm in the process of finalizing the floor plan of my own house, I'm surfing the net to check for pictures of the kitchen I visualize and below is the perfect kitchen look for me:

Very simple right? It has to have a nook bar and light colored paint plus the kitchen cabinet on top should allot space for the microwave specifically in the middle.

Depressing News

When I got home yesterday, I got furious and ballistic. As soon as I entered our house, CJ, my eldest son broke the news to me that his sister Acey was wounded. I saw Acey lying on the sofa with their nanny and I couldn't believe what I saw. There are 2 wounds on her left leg and another small one on her face. I ask the nanny and CJ for an explanation. They said they went to my mom to get our supply of cooked food for that day, on their way back home, Acey was chasing her brother and fell on the rough wood that caused the wound. I didn't spunk any of my kids because there's no use but both my kids including the nanny received an earful from me. I coudn't suppressed my anger at that moment. I'm too disappointed especially to CJ when the nanny told me his misbehaviors when I am not around.

Good thing, I have enough supply of Betadine and bandages kept in our medicine cabinet. I've been taking care of Acey's legs and now this happened. I just hope, it will heal soon and won't leave any type of scars.

On an entirely different note, I got up as early as 4:30 am this morning because my shift is at 6am. Ate Nits (our stay out nanny) arrived before 5:00 am. While I dress up, I heard Ate Nits talking to our neighbors and I thought something must have happened and I was right, a burglar broke inside the newly occupied apartment in front of us. They took the appliances and some valuables, this possibly happened because the couple living in the said apartment are both working and on graveyard shift. This is the first time it happend in our compound and I'm thinking it can happen to us too. I called my mom and after learning the bad news, she wants us to transfer in their house immediately and I can't blame her. Incidents like this can really make you paranoid.

Bring it on: My Best Quote for Moms

Here's a tag from fellow blogger & friend Mina.

Here's how to do it: Choose your favorite quote about mommies. You may also want to share your short interpretation of the quote and pass this tag to 6 fellow moms.

"Becoming a mother makes you the mother of all children. From now on each wounded, abandoned, frightened child is yours. You live in the suffering mothers of every race and creed and weep with them. You long to comfort all who are desolate." -- Charlotte Gray

When you become a mother and have your own kid/s, your concern for other kids like those abandoned by their parents is different. It's deeper and stronger. If only you have all the wealth in the world, you would choose to take care of them and when you see kids on TV suffering from illness and dying, it breaks your heart.

Belated Happy Mother's Day!!!

I am now passing this tag to: Alpha, Prily, Imelda, Portia, Purple & Mudra.

When Love Begins

My friend Ednalee and I have watched the movie "When Love Begins" last Tuesday after work, starring the forever young looking Aga Muhlach and the reigning box office leading lady Anne Curtis. We were able to catch the 5:05 viewing time.

We bought 4 slices of hawaiian flavored pizza from Pizzahut (2 each) & 2 large size of refreshing Iced Tea from Go Nuts Donuts.

We enjoyed watching the film while relishing the pizza then drink the iced tea.

Life is sooo good.

It was a long today.

I was able to accomplish quiet a lot today.

It’s actually my day off. As early as 9am, I left the house and headed to CJ’s school to get his class card and inquire about the tuition fees & enrollment schedules. I’m happy to find out that he got 85.20 average despite his laziness in doing his assignments and failing grades in several short quizzes. I can’t and don’t want to force him in his studies. As long as he doesn’t have failing grades in any of his subject at the end of every grading period, I’m fine with that. His Math teacher believed that CJ is naturally intelligent, however, he lethargically copy the assignment written on the board, resulting to submission of unfinished homework the next day. But hey, I’m still proud of my son, 85.20 average with 50% seriousness in studies isn’t bad at all…lol.

Afterwards, I headed to UnionBank to deposit small amount in my EON CyberAccount so I could add my debit card information in my PayPal and have verified status account. I’m unimpressed with UnionBank’s service representatives, they’re a bit slow in handling transactions, I got there at 9:45am and left at 10:35am, almost an hour of waiting considering there are only few people depositing or withdrawing money.

I was in Clark Pampanga before 12 noon for my Annual Physical Exam (APE). Every year, all employees undergo APE which is part of our medical benefits. We’ll go through blood test, lab test such as urine & stool exam, X-ray, eye exam & rectal exam (eewww). This is done during employee’s anniversary. As I write this post. I just realized that I’ve been with our company for 8 long years now. I started as Billing Consultant, was transferred to a different department after more than 2 years as Cancellation Specialist. A couple of years after. I got promoted to Senior level at the same time Consultant Support Specialist or CSS. Now, I’m part of the Quality Assurance team and I plan to remain in this department simply because I’m happy with the challenges that comes with my work as QA Analyst and I enjoy every minute I spend with the people in the said department.

When I got home, I saw a mail I’ve been waiting for and it’s from Google Adsense. It contains the PIN I need to enter online in my account in Google Adsense so there won’t be any problem getting my money from them.

I’m delighted knowing the fact that my Google Adsense account is finally okay plus my Paypal account status will become verified in 2 to 3 days…hhmmm… I think I smell money…haha.

Sunday Hang Out

Every Sunday morning, we take a peek at the lot owned by my parents wherein their simple dream house is currently under construction. We're happy to see developments everytime we go there. As of yesterday, the roof was installed and today, the carpenters will work on the silling and hopefully finishings will be completed before end of May. The kids have a bigger space to play around and they can't wait. I'm quite excited for my parents along with my brother and his family to transfer & enjoy the new house.
